Step2Med was created by a senior medical student. Our Founder has been tutoring and mentoring students for over 7 years and created this company with one mission: to provide support for students from all walks of life, at affordable prices, without compromising quality.
The ethos underpinning Step2Med is to provide that extra push, knowledge and guidance to prospective medical and dental students at an early stage of their career.
Over the years, we have gathered many ways to strengthen the different aspects of your application and wish to impart this knowledge to you all.
We want to provide you with the necessary tools in your application to medical and dental school at non-extortionate prices.

Meet Our Team
Dr Pooja Devani
Founder and Lead Tutor

About Me: I’m currently a Foundation Doctor with a vision to help and guide students to enter Medicine and Dentistry irrespective of their backgrounds.

My Role: I'm the Founder of Step2Med and the Lead Tutor for all our GCSE, A-Level and Undergraduate Courses. I design and formulate all the courses that Step2Med deliver. I oversee the courses Step2Med run and I'm grateful for such great team members without whom this initiative would not be possible

Background: I have tutored for 7 years now and coached students with all parts of their application process.

Interests: Paediatrics, Education, Learning a new skill regularly.
Dr Arjuna Thakker
Lead Tutor and Quality Lead

About Me: I’m currently a Foundation Doctor and enjoy teaching students using various techniques.

My Role: I'm the Lead Tutor with Dr Devani and organise all the courses. I ensure that the courses we deliver are evidence-based. The majority of my time is quality assurance, to ensure we continue to deliver the most up-to-date courses at consistent quality.

Background: I have trained students with Step2Med employing the strategies formulated by Dr Devani and seen incredible success. Year on year, I continue to develop these with our Founder.

Dr Adam Arshad
Lead Tutor and Educational Lead

About Me: I am currently a Foundation Doctor who is passionate about medical education and widening access to medical and dental schools.

My Role: I'm the Lead Tutor with Dr Devani and organise all the courses. I ensure that the courses we deliver are evidence-based. The majority of my time is quality assurance, to ensure we continue to deliver the most up-to-date courses at consistent quality.

Background: I am passionate about teaching, having privately tutored prospective medical applicants throughout my time at medical school. I have completed my Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education this year and look to employ the theoretical knowledge I have learnt from this into the Step2Med course.

Niha Hussain

About Me: I’m currently a third-year medical student and one of Step2Med’s ex-students! I enjoy teaching and believe that everyone deserves an equal chance of applying to university, regardless of their circumstances, that's why I joined the Step2Med Team.

My Role: I run the mock interviews for the Step2Interview Courses we deliver. I also contribute to updating our material regularly, and produce free articles weekly for students on our blog.

Background: I have tutored for 6 years and assisted students perfect their personal statements and interview techniques. I also volunteer with the Widening Access to Medicine schemes .

Shivani Kotecha
Dentistry Lead and MMI Lead

About Me: I’m currently a third year dental student an education lead at my university.

My Role: I'm the Dentistry Lead Tutor for Step2Med. I ensure that all our students applying for Dentistry are mentored appropriately. I am also designing and leading the Dentistry Courses with Dr Devani as well as setting up our first ever Multiple Mini Interviews Circuit Course.

Background: I have worked with prospective students for many years as well as being part of interview panels assessing students. I am currently Education Lead at my university which constantly ensures I am up-to-date with information.
